How to use Brandhaardjes

The map

Every event with a known location is a coloured circle on the map; colour and icon show the type. When many events are close together they are grouped into a number: zoom in or click it. Click a circle for a short summary and a link to the event’s page.

Scrolling inside the map only works after you click it, so you can scroll past it normally.

Filters

• Type: tick types on or off, for example only Riots and Blockades.
• Period: by default you see the past and coming week. Choose From today for everything still to come, or Everything for the archive.
• Province and Search (title, place or summary).

The filters are kept in the page address, so you can share a filtered map or bookmark it.

Timeline

Below the map the same events are listed per day. 📍 jumps to the event on the map.

RSS feeds

Follow new events in your feed reader:

• All events
• Per type, for example protests or riots
• Per province, for example Zuid-Holland
• Per place, for example Amsterdam

Every overview page of a type, province or place links to its feed. Feeds are ordered by when an event was found, not by the date of the event itself.

Data

For your own maps or analyses: /data/events.json contains all events with title, summary, type, times, place, province and coordinates.
